Breakfast Review: Whispering Canyon Cafe

Happy Wednesday, friends! I hope you all are having a great week so far! You all know how much I love breakfast, and there's a major hidden gem at Disney's Wilderness Lodge that I have to talk to you about. No it's not Trail's End... we went there for breakfast once and vowed never again it was that bad. But in the main lobby of the lodge itself, you'll notice a small restaurant called Whispering Canyon. This is one of the best, least expensive, and most fun breakfasts you can have at Walt Disney World!

When you walk in to be seated you'll notice that each table probably has some weird settings, like a gallon size jar of tea, or about 50 straws, or even someone sitting in the "county jail." That's all part of the fun at Whispering Canyon. If you love interacting with Cast Members who know how to have a good time then this is the place for you. Note, you can also have a "normal breakfast" without the gags and fun, just be sure to tell the hostess at check-in.

The food at Whispering Canyon is always consistent each time you go. My family and I have been multiple times over the past few years and have never had a bad meal there. There are a few stars on the menu, including their miniature sticky buns! These come out in a small cast iron pot, and has four buns inside. These are the perfect way to start off any meal. My favorite entree at Whispering Canyon, that you won't find anywhere else at Walt Disney World is the banana bread French toast. Homemade banana bread is sliced up and griddled, and it's served with bacon normally but I always opt for a side of their smoky cheese grits instead! This is the perfect way to start out any Disney day.

Another major highlight of the menu is the all-you-can-eat meal, which comes out with eggs, bacon, sausage, potatoes, mickey waffles, and biscuits and gravy. You can get this for the whole table or just one person. This is a great way to go if you're indecisive about what to get for breakfast.

The cast members that work at Whispering Canyon are really what make it special. Each time we head in there for breakfast it's always the same crew, and it's so nice to see a familiar face. If you're wanting a more "interactive" breakfast be sure to sass them back just like they sass you around, and you'll have a lot more fun.

Well friends, that's it for today! If you've been to Whispering Canyon let me know in the comments what you've thought about it. Also be sure to follow me on Instagram to keep up with all of my Disney adventures!
