My Favorite Disney Moments of 2017
Happy Monday, friends! I know I've been away for a while, but I'm back and so excited about today's post! I'm going to be sharing my favorite Disney moments of 2017! So much has happened at the Disney parks this year and I am so thankful that I got to experience some of them with friends and family!
1. High Tea at the Grand Floridian
One of the very first Disney things I did this year was something new to me and it was having high tea at the Grand Floridian! This experience is so fun, and the perfect way to get away from the hustle and bustle of the parks and slow your day down. I wrote a full review of tea at the Grand here if you want to check it out!
2. All of the RunDisney Events
In 2017 I completed eight runDisney events! All of them were so fun and I love doing these races. In fact, I love them so much I've already signed up for four more in 2018. This year I ran through Epcot as Merida, Rey, Captain Phasma, and Thor. I also got to do a 5K on Disney's private island, Castaway Cay! How awesome is that! If you're even thinking about doing a runDisney event, I would highly suggest signing up!
3. Spending my 25th Birthday at Walt Disney World
This year, like many years before I got to spend my birthday at my favorite place with my awesome parents! The great thing about this birthday was that Disney threw me the best party ever! The day of my birthday, Pandora: The World of Avatar was doing it's very first pass holder preview and we got to go! We also got to see the brand new fireworks, Happily Ever After, at Magic Kingdom, and eat at some of our favorite Disney restaurants!
4. Being at the Grand Opening of Pandora: The World of Avatar
A few weeks after my birthday Pandora: The World of Avatar was having it's grand opening, so I had to be there. My mom and I went together and it was so fun! We also got to hang out with my friend Chase from ImagineerInsta, and his friend's Maggie and Jacob. We hung out all night in Pandora and got to do Na'Vi River Journey during extra magic hours!
5. Closing Down The Great Movie Ride and Universe of Energy
This year brought the end of one of my favorite rides at Disney, Universe of Energy, and one of my mom's favorite rides, The Great Movie Ride. It just so happened that I had already booked a room for that weekend before Disney announced these two rides would be closing on the same day, so my mom and I headed down to the parks and did these two special rides one more time!
6. Food and Wine Festival Disney Parks Blog Meet-Up
Throughout the year I got the opportunity to attend three different Disney Parks Blog Meet-Ups! My favorite one was in celebration of Food and Wine Festival at Epcot, where the DPB team brought in chefs from around Epcot and we got a HUGE dinner party of the highlights of the festival, free drinks, and VIP seating for Eat to the Beat! If you want to read more about this experience, you can check it out here!
7. Dressing Up like Kuzko at Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party
I love going to Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party, and this year was no exception. My mom and I went as Kuzco and Yzma, and honestly I never want to go as anyone else ever again. All of the characters and Cast Members loved our outfits, and they were so easy to make! We were able to accomplish so much during the party and am so glad we went again this year!
8. Behind the Seeds Tour
One of the best and most underrated tours at Walt Disney World is the Behind the Seeds Tour at Epcot. One of my best friends, Kaitlyn and I went to the parks and randomly decided to do this tour! It was so fun, and we learned so much about the Living With the Land ride. The tour is pretty cheap and there are pass holder and DVC discounts! That night we also go upgraded from an All-Star Sports room to a Port Orleans Riverside room, so that was a major win!
9. Doing Animal Kingdom with 16 New Friends
I never thought I would do a Disney park with more than nine people. But here I am saying I did Animal Kingdom in October with 16 people! To say it was overwhelming is a bit of an understatement but it was so much fun! Imagine going on Expedition Everest and taking up almost half the train, or walking into lunch and the hostess at the door not knowing what to do because your group is massive, because that's definitely what happened.
10. Going on a Christmas Disney Cruise with my Family
My last favorite moment of 2017 was going on a Disney cruise last week with my family. There is nothing better than spending time with my parents, and I am thankful for them everyday! We had so much fun on our cruise as we set sail for Cozumel and Castaway Cay. There are going to be so many posts about this cruise coming up soon so be on the lookout for those!
Well friends, that's it for today! Let me know what your favorite Disney moment of 2017 was in the comments! Also be sure to follow me on Instagram to keep up with all of my Disney adventures!
