Kristen's Top 5 Activities That Make Every Disney Trip Feel New
Hi friends, Kristen here! I run a little Instagram account you may or may not be familiar with, by the name of DisneyTripsandDoleWhip, where I post about (you guessed it) my Disney trips and Disney eats (such as Dole Whip!) - clever right?
Anywho, I was just beyond excited when Megan reached out to me about submitting a guest glog for Mingling with Megan! One thing about the Disney community that I truly cherish most is the absolutely AMAZING friendships I've made along the way; and Megan is just a prime example. A gem. One of the kindest, sweetest, most genuine souls you'll ever come across, but you already know that if you've been following her account for any amount of time!
When she first reached out to me, I instantly thought I would post about my area of expertise - Disney food! However, Megan threw me for a loop and challenged me to a non-food related post. At first I didn't even know where to begin. I mean, I literally revolve my entire trips around my dining plans (doesn't everyone?!) but then it hit me: "just tell everyone what else you enjoy doing at the parks, besides eating!". Duh!
Now, it's not that my life is all that interesting, but when you do go to the parks as often as I do, people always ask "Don't you get tired of it?!" And the answer is NO. No, I don't. How? Well, there are a few tips and tricks I use to make each and every trip feel like a new one. So today I’m sharing with you my top 5 activities that help make every trip feel new and exciting:
Trade them, collect them, wear them...SO MANY THINGS YOU CAN DO WITH PINS. This one is actually a newbie for me. I purchased my first Disney official pin just a few weeks ago and did my first pin trade shortly after that and OMG GUYS. A whole new world opened up to me! (Pun very much intended)
2. Special Tours
Think you know everything there is to know about Disney? Think again. Go on a tour. You'd be surprised how much you'll see and learn! The best part is that there are SO many options at all of the parks for these guided tours. My personal favorite is the Keys to the Kingdom tour at Magic Kingdom because you get such an in-depth, behind the scenes look at a park you may have visited hundreds of times. It also includes lunch and can be booked at a discounted rate for Passholders - both of which are pluses. If you're on a tighter budget, there are still great options like the Behind the Seeds tour at Epcot.
3. Shop til you Drop
This ones quite obvious, since there are few things I love more in life than some good Disney merch, but sometimes we get caught up in the rides and food, and we bypass the gift shops. Take your time, walk through the shops! Enjoy that air conditioning. Use that Passholder discount. You'd be surprised all the great things you'll find - like my Castle necklace. I get asked so much about it but I found it at Mouse Gears in Epcot!
4. Photo Ops
You don't have to be an Instragrammer to appreciate the beauty & Magic of Disney Parks. Finding fun walls & chasing balloons can make for fun adventures throughout your trip. There's always something to snap a photo of & what better way to cherish those memories?
5. Try something new!
My absolute favorite thing to do on Disney trips is simply doing something I've never done before! Whether it's booking fastpasses for an attraction I've never experienced, staying at a resort I've never stayed at, dining at a restaurant I've never been to...the possibilities are endless! But you'll see how easily re-discover that excitement and wonder you felt during your first visits.
I hope you guys enjoyed reading what activities I enjoy at the parks (besides all the noms). For more food related posts, feel free to follow along on my Instagram account. The more friends the merrier!
