Disney Parks Blog Meet-Up

Happy Monday, friends! I hope all of you had a great weekend and ARRRR ready for a fantastic week ahead! Yesterday I got the opportunity to go see the new Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales with Disney Parks Blog, and while this post isn't going to be about the movie (no one likes spoilers!) it is going to be about how awesome the event was, and how YOU can get to go to upcoming Disney Parks Blogs Meet-Ups!

First off, I know I'm going to get a lot of questions, so yes! Pirates was great! Go see it! I took my mom who has never seen a Pirates movie before and even she loved it! The story line was fantastic, and it was just an all around fun movie, especially if you're a fan of the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise.

Now about the event! We drove about 2 hours from our home to go to the event. This might seem kind of silly, but imagine being one of the first people ever to see a movie before it's officially released to the public, and knowing you're going to be surrounded by other Disney loving fans, and the Disney Parks Blog team. That's my kind of Sunday Funday! The meet-up was held at Disney Springs at the AMC Theatre there. We were told to park in the Orange Parking Garage, which lets you out right by the movie theatre.

When we got there, the event was so organized! I feel like this is an obvious thing to say because it's Disney and 99 percent of everything they do is beyond organized! We check in, and we were told to go through a Cast Members only door (which there was nothing truly exciting back there friends) and we were put in an assembly line of sorts to get ready for the movie. There was a Cast Member handing out a coupon for free popcorn and drinks for each DPB guest, a CM giving out Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales bandannas, and another CM helping guests select a Disney Parks Blog tee-shirt. Then at the end of the line they had two tables set up like the theater. They had each seat printed with tickets, and you selected your seat based on where tickets were left. The whole process took less than five minutes and it was so easy!

We had about an hour before the movie officially started so we walked around Disney Springs and went to Zara in search of those super cute Mickey Shorts that everyone is hunting for, but they didn't have them in my size. When we headed back to the theater the DPB team was welcoming everyone in, and taking photos of the guests in costume. There were giant movie posters and displays to take photos with, which was fun. Everyone was required to turn their phone and any other smart devices in so there was no piracy. Que all of the bad jokes. There was one more bag check and wand scan before entering the theater. Which was a little difficult to unzip and take off my bag with my hands full of popcorn and drinks, but thank you, as always, to the Disney security team for keeping us safe!

Once we got inside there was a pirate band, The Rusty Cutlass Band, to entertain everyone! They were super fun and definitely worth getting to the theatre early for.

Right before the movie started we were introduced to part of the Disney Parks Blog team, including Jenn and Mark who typically host the Disney Parks Blog Live events, Steve Miller who is the Merchandise Communications Manager, and a few other guests from the Walt Disney Studios! It was very cool to see the people who put on such a special event for us! We watched preview trailers for Cars 3, Coco, Thor Ragnarok, and Star Wars: The Last Jedi, then Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales began!

Friends, if you ever get the opportunity to go to a Disney Parks Blog event it's so worth it! Even with the two hour drive one way, we loved every moment of our time at this event! If you want to know when the next events are be sure to follow Disney Parks on Twitter and when they let you know they are having a meet-up you MUST be quick to sign up! Our Pirates event filled up in less than three minutes!

I do want to say thank you again to Disney Parks Blog for having us. It was such a treat to see Captain Jack Sparrow and the rest of the Pirates of the Caribbean crew as an early preview!

Friends, are you going to see the new Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales? It comes out this Friday, May 27! Let me know in the comments!

Be Magical Today!
