Happy Wednesday, friends! I hope you all are having a great week! We are just under one month away from the first Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party of the season and I know a lot of us like to dress up for this super fun event, but don't want to spend a lot money on a costume. Today I want to share four different costume DIY's you can do with one red tutu skirt! Yes, friends, I said four!
First off, you can get a red tutu almost anywhere, but I got mine at Target after Halloween two years ago. I like buying one because they usually have a lining inside and they look nicer than ones I would make. If you're good at making tutu's definitely go for it though!
1. Minnie Mouse
The first look is our main girl, Minnie! Obviously her classic red dress is going to be super easy to replicate with a red tutu. The way I would attach the white dots of her dress would be to cut some out of a heavy paper, like card stock, then either glue them on if you're going to use this skirt as a Minnie only skirt, or hand stitch through the paper and a few layers of the skirt. Wear a black t-shirt or tank top and some ears and you have a super cute outfit!
One of the most underrated Disney movies of all time is the Emperor's New Groove. Kuzco has a super easy outfit to replicate with a red tutu. What I would do is just pair the tutu with an oversized red t-shirt, and some gold or metallic sandals. To make Kuzco's headpiece, cut or fold a paper plate in half around a headband, glue everything to secure it, then paint the plate on both sides yellow. BOOM BABY!
Since you've got no strings on you, Pinocchio will be a super simple Disneybound costume! Take that red tutu and a yellow shirt as your base. Then you're going to want a black vest (or not because these Halloween parties can be HOT!). If you're going for a Disneybound look a blue belt would be cute around your waist where your skirt and shirt meet. Add some brown sandals and you're all set!
You all know how much I love Gaston and going to see him at his tavern at Magic Kingdom! Gaston meets during Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party so to dress up like him would be super fun! This would be another Disneybound-type costume. Pair your red tutu with a tight red shirt, brown shoes, a brown belt, and a yellow scarf and you're all set to woo and marry Belle!
Well friends, I hope this helps if you're planning on going to Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party! Let me know in the comments who you're going as this year! Be sure to follow me on Instagram to keep up with all of my Disney adventures!
