Happy Wednesday, friends! If you're like me then in the Summer you hate wearing makeup. It's just too dang hot, and by the end of the day it's all melted off your face anyways, so why bother? I typically don't bother putting makeup on in summer during the week, but on the weekends, or for events, or Disney I definitely make the exception. Summer here in Florida is from mid-April through most of October, which is prime Disney time! This year during "Summer" at Disney I've already celebrated my birthday, ran two runDisney events, went to the grand opening of Pandora: The World of Avatar, and seen early previews of Pirates of the Caribbean and Cars 3! So what's in my summer makeup bag when I head to the parks to stay looking somewhat presentable?!
For me, the key to any successful Disney makeup look for the parks is to keep it simple and keep it under five products! Yes, I said 5! I don't want to be wasting time in my hotel room getting ready in the morning when I could be seeing Rapunzel, or riding Flight of Passage! So what are my five go-to products for a look fit for a princess?
This foundation came highly recommended to me from an employee at Sephora, and after trying it at Disney in April and May I can say it's fab! It's got a medium, but buildable coverage. Like with any Becca product, it does have a "glow" to it, but not nearly as high as the shimmering skin perfectors. I like this foundation because it doesn't feel heavy on my skin, and it stays put once it's set. After spending much of Memorial Day at Epcot and the grand opening of Pandora: The World of Avatar, I thought I was going to go back to my room without any makeup on my face because it had all melted off, but this one was still there! To me, that's a total win!
I am crazy about how my eyebrows look. This eyebrow product is the one I recommend most to my friends and family because it's that good! I love how small the actual pencil part is so I can be super precise with everything. I also love that through rain, sweat, and Splash Mountain, this product does not move at all!
Here's the thing with palettes, you can really take any one of the ones that you have in your collection or that you love the most and you can get a similar look to someone else. I love the Naked Basics palette for a few reasons. It's relatively small, so it doesn't take up a bunch of space in my makeup bag. It's got a condensed selection of matte colors, meaning I'm not trying to do some fancy eye look, but the range is wide enough where you can go from morning at Magic Kingdom to night time at California Grill without problems! I also really like how big the mirror is. If you've ever stayed at a value resort at Walt Disney World you know that the mirror situation is not so great, so I usually try to bring a palette that has a bigger mirror so I can do my makeup on the bed.
This mascara is my all-time favorite mascara! It does everything you want a mascara to do, and it lasts forever. I have a few of the travel size minis from Christmas this past year that I keep in my Disney makeup bag. I find that this mascara is good for people who have shorter lashes, and want length and volume, because the brush grabs each individual lash.
One of my all time favorite products are NARS Matte Velvet Lip Pencils. These lipsticks are super easy to put on because it's basically a giant crayon, so the pressure of having a perfect lip from a bullet style lipstick is gone forever. I love the range of these lipsticks too. My signature color that I wear most often is Dragon Girl, which is a bright fire red, but I also love Damned, which is a dark berry-wine color. These last most of the day, and don't dry out your lips like other matte lipsticks will. I tend to keep a few of these in my Disney makeup bag so I can change my look from day to day.
