Celebrating STAR WARS
Tomorrow is the day that is celebrated by nerds everywhere, and yes I'm including myself in that, it's STAR WARS DAY! May 4th is a day where the light and the dark come together to celebrate their love of Star Wars. But how do you do that when it's the middle of the week and you have to adult?
The number one thing I do to celebrate anything is put on music. I love listening to music and one of my favorite movie scores happens to be from Star Wars: The Force Awakens. John Williams is an absolute genius when it comes to music. If you're like me then you stream a lot of your music through Spotify. But did you know that when you stream The Force Awakens movie score the timer at the bottom of the screen actually turns into a light saber that you can change it's color based on your favorite Star Wars character?! I always change mine to the Darth Vader red one.
On Star Wars day I would also recommend wearing a Star Wars inspired outfit. Since I work remotely I can pretty much wear whatever I want, which usually means running shorts and a t-shirt. But, one of my favorite Star Wars inspired looks comes right from the Disney Parks (or the Disney Store online). This skirt is beyond beautiful, and the details are so pretty. It does run a little small so I would suggest either ordering a size up if you are between sizes, or if you are close to a Disney Park trying on on there.
Another obvious thing to do on Star Wars day is to watch your favorite Star Wars movie. While many people will say one of the original six movies of the Star Wars saga is their favorite, I was late to the Star Wars game and was only introduced to it just before The Force Awakens came out. So obviously I have a better connection with the characters in that movie than I do in the others, so I'm probably going to be watching Rey and Captain Phasma on Star Wars Day! But whatever movie is your favorite, be sure to bring snacks.
Speaking of snacks, there has to be Star Wars inspired snacks to get you through the day. One of the easiest is going to be blue milk. Just drop a few drops of blue food coloring into milk, and BAM blue milk. If you don't like milk (it's okay, I don't really like milk either) or you don't have food coloring there are plenty of other snack ideas. Two hexagon shaped cookies with a marshmallow in the middle would be great for TIE Fighter treats! Or dipping pretzel rods into colored chocolate and calling them light sabers! You can be as creative as you want to with this.
Friends, if you're lucky enough to be going to Walt Disney World or Disneyland on May 4th be sure to stop by the Star Wars Launch Bay! There is where you can meet all of your favorite Star Wars friends, trade with Jawas, and see some of the props used in the Star Wars movies. I also love going to Hollywood Studios at Walt Disney World because it's the home of one of my favorite rides, Star Tours! And let's be honest, who doesn't want to be picked as the rebel spy on that ride?!
Well friends, that's it for today! If you're celebrating Star Wars tomorrow, let me know in the comments what you're doing! May the Force be with you.
Be Magical Today!
