Royal Couples Breakfast at Disney's Boardwalk Resort

Happy Monday, friends! I hope you all had a great weekend! If you have been living under a rock, or aren't up to date with all of the dining news coming out of Walt Disney World recently, then you might have missed one of their newest princess breakfast options. Friends, I'm here to tell you that the new Bon Voyage Royal Couples Breakfast at Disney's Boardwalk Resort is NOT to be missed! My mom and I did this for the first time during our Memorial Day weekend trip and not only was the food fantastic, but it was such a fun group of characters at breakfast.

This breakfast takes place at Trattoria al Forno and can fill up quickly. The Sunday we ate there, there were quite a few empty tables and were able to get seated right away. Our waitress was fantastic and she really did help the meal move right along. I, personally, don't like spending a lot of time at breakfast, but I do know that character meals tend to take bit longer. On this particular day we had seen all four characters, and eaten breakfast in about 45 minutes. This is highly unusual. I believe our breakfast was so quick because we got seated right as the characters were starting to greet the people in our section, so instead of eating and having to stop, we were able to have our photos and chat before we even ordered our meal! I LOVED that, but know that this is not how character meals always are, and they can take anywhere from 45 minutes from an hour and a half.

Part of the reason I loved this breakfast so much was because of the characters that were there. The four characters that are supposed to be there everyday are Rapunzel and Flynn Rider, along with Ariel and Prince Eric. I love this because it's hard to find events at Disney to meet the princes unless you're going to a paid event like a Halloween or Christmas party. Seeing Rapunzel and Flynn, and Ariel and Eric together is such a goal, and I loved every second of it! While they do not come to meet at your table together, they do interact with each other as they pass each other and walking in and out of the restaurant.

The food at this breakfast was surprisingly good! There are a lot of character breakfast I will not go to because I've heard some not so great things about the food. I personally cannot justify $30 or more for breakfast if the food isn't good. But at Trattoria al Forno the menu is well thought out and will please just about everyone in your party. When you get seated at breakfast your waiter or waitress will bring out juice, coffee, and a bread basket. The bread basket is beyond cute with seashell and Rapunzel sun shaped pastries. You then will be able to choose from a parfait or fruit. I got the fruit and it was a nice compliment to my entree. For my entree I had the pancakes, which were just what you want in the perfect pancake! But let's be honest here, these were not just one or two, these were a huge stack with fruit and a Rapunzel sun in powdered sugar on top!

Overall I would go here again knowing the food was really great, and having some of my favorite characters was an added bonus!
