October Disney Trip Report
Happy Monday, friends! I hope you all had a great weekend and are ready for Halloween, the start of a new month, and the next runDisney event all this week! There's going to be a whole lot about that next runDisney event on Wednesday, but today I want to tell you guys about the trip I just got to take last week to Walt Disney World! It seems like this year has been filled with so many trips to the parks, filled with friends, filled with memories, and the trip last week just added to all of that!
I headed to the parks last Wednesday to Friday, and it was so so fun! I was meeting up with some of my friends who live out of state and going to my second Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party! Wednesday I was off to Hollywood Studios with Maggie. If you didn't know Hollywood Studios is my favorite park. The moment I walked into the park the March of the First Order started and I got to see my girl, Captain Phasma, and while I waited for Maggie to get to the park I headed over to the Star Wars Launch Bay to see BB-8, and Kylo Ren. I really love being a Disney Visa card holder because the regular stand-by line to see Kylo Ren was about 30 minutes, but the Visa meet line was empty, so I got to walk right into the bridge to see my launch bae.
After Maggie got to the park we hit up all of the rides, the Frozen Sing-A-Long, and Voyage of the Little Mermaid. It was so fun, and Maggie is one of the sweetest, most genuine people in the world! I was so glad I was able to hang out with her for a while, but it was getting late in the afternoon, and I needed to get over to Magic Kingdom for a little bit of family time.
My grandpa works at Magic Kingdom as a train engineer and conductor. I headed up to Main Street Station, and I got to be his guest conductor! If you've never been the guest conductor, you get to say "All Aboard" into the train's intercom system, and you get a pretty cool certificate. It was really special because I got to do it with my grandpa.
Wednesday night at Magic Kingdom I also faced my fears of talking Mickey, and you guys it was so funny. Who knew Mickey had jokes?! And photopass took this super cute picture so it wasn't all that bad, and I'll definitely be back to see my main mouse at Magic Kingdom.
The one thing I do regret doing on Wednesday was getting the pineapple upside down cake with Dole Whip on top. Friends, I usually LOVE Dole Whips! In fact, if I'm not at Magic Kingdom or Animal Kingdom, I'll make a trip to the Polynesian to get one sometimes just because they are so so good. But the pineapple upside down cake with Dole Whip was way to sweet. It might just be me, but I typically don't like overly sweet things, and this felt like I was going to get instant diabetes. It just wasn't my thing.
Thursday was a wild day at Animal Kingdom, where I got together with my friend Chase and 16, yes 16 of his friends! I was very lucky to get a Flight of Passage fastpass before my trip, and we all ended up getting another one for later in the day! That's what you call Disney magic! If you've never been to Disney with a group of 17, it can be overwhelming, but I made 15 new friends, and each one of them was so sweet, and I've never had more fun on Kilamanjaro Safari than I did Thursday afternoon.
Thursday night, I headed to my second Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party of the season, and it was so fun! I wore the worlds biggest rose gold sequin bow. As my best friend told me, "Megan, the bigger the bow the closer to the Lord." But it got really cold really quick, so my matching skirt got traded out for jeans. RIP cute outfit.
I went to see Mickey in his Halloween outfit, which was adorable and he had more jokes! I also rode a few rides, met Lotso and had dinner before meeting back up with my friends to watch Boo To You, HalloWishes, and The Hocus Pocus Villains Spelltacular. In all of my years of going to Mickey's Not So Scary I had never seen the Hocus Pocus show, and I had pretty high expectations, and it was actually really good! Our parade spot was less than crowded, which was fantastic, and our fireworks spot was prime viewing.
Friday morning I packed up my car to head back home, which is the worst feeling ever. I hate leaving Disney. So I stopped by Wilderness Lodge for breakfast at Geyser Point. You really can't beat the views there! It's an open air bar that looks out over Bay Lake, which was the perfect ending to a high-paced but super fun few days!
I can't wait to be back at the parks soon, and see my sweet friends again! Let me know in the comments what your Disney countdown is! Also be sure to follow me on Instagram to keep up with all of my Disney adventures!
Be Magical Today!
