Epcot's International Festival of the Arts Overview
Happy Monday friends! I hope all of you had a great weekend! I basically did nothing all weekend because Florida has finally decided to participate in winter, and it was cold and rainy all weekend. Welcome to the Sunshine State, right?
Today I'm going to be talking about the new Epcot International Festival of the Arts. This new Festival is only on the weekends, Friday-Monday, from January 13- February 20. Basically the festival is combining the senses to create one MEGA festival. There are going to be exhibits all over Epcot showing off art from renowned artists like Mary Blair and Joe Kaminski. In World Showcase there is going to be food at the booths that are still up from Food and Wine Festival celebrating the culinary arts, and it all looks amazing, but more about that later! And in the America Pavilion, there are going to be nightly concerts featuring some of Broadway's biggest stars singing popular Disney songs. (Check the official Disney times guide online for dates, times, and performers.) The location is the same area as Candlelight Processional and the Eat to the Beat Concerts.
The food is really what I'm most concerned, and excited about here though! The chefs at Epcot really have gone all out for this new festival, and some of these dishes are sure to make another appearance later in the year at Flower and Garden or Food and Wine.
Can we please talk about these fancy pop tarts?! They have a real name given by Disney, but I promise you everyone is going to be calling them "Fancy Pop Tarts."
Apparently these are "cookies with chocolate hazelnut filling." Anything with nutella is my jam, and I WILL be getting one of these! And just look how pretty they are! You'll be seeing these pop up on Instagram a lot too.
If you like more savory things, these scallops look incredible!
Anything that has cheese on it, I'm game, especially Parmesan. Disney has served scallops at festivals in the past and they have been a huge hit, so I'm not surprised that scallops are making an appearance again.
If there's one thing you get from the Festival of the Arts, it is going to have to be these Savory Cronuts! YES I SAID SAVORY CRONUTS!
I talked about these in an Instagram Live I did last week and the people that joined in were just as excited as I was about these! Now, I'm not sure what the flavors are, or if you get all three when you buy them, Disney has not released that information, but for "research" I will be trying all three!
One of the last things I'm really excited to try is this chocolate mousse pyramid with gold leaf. Nothing makes you feel more fancy than eating real gold.
How amazing does that look?! I love chocolate, and just like Anna from Frozen, I have chocolate eating powers. I see chocolate, and it's magically gone.
Friends, this new festival at Epcot sounds so cool! I cannot wait to experience it in a few weeks! Are you excited about the new Festival of the Arts, or are you tired of Epcot being a year-round festival? Let me know in the comments.
