Happy Wednesday, friends! There's a lot happening this week, and I feel like October is flying by! Before we know it Christmas is going to be here, and then BAM 2017! But first, I want to talk about some things that I've noticed making a comeback at the Disney Parks the past few months.
1. Fanny Packs
I thought the fanny pack trend died in the 90s, but I've seen so many people wear these tiny waist purses to the Disney Parks the past few trips that I'm seeing a comeback trend. And friends, this is not a trend just among college students who are getting those bright neon colored ones from their student union, adults are wearing them too. Now, I'm not against a fanny pack, but I'm definitely not for them either. I'd much rather have more room and somewhere to put all of my Parkbound Buttons on a backpack.
2. Trading Pins
I love the Disney trading pins. The past few years I've seen less and less people buying them to actually trade, but buy them just because they are an easy souvenir. But over the past few months I've seen an upsurge in actually trading these tiny pins, which is really cool! I've seen people trade in hotel lobby's with other hotel guests during "pin trading hour" and with Cast Members who have those giant books of pins. You can get some really awesome pins from other guests. I've gotten pins from Tokyo Disneyland, and Disneyland Paris, and I've never been to either park!
3. Pressed Pennies
Disney is always bringing out new pressed penny designs, but people rarely notice. But the past few months I've noticed other blogs and Disney Twitter accounts take notice of these new designs and all new pressed penny machines! Friends, pressed pennies are making a comeback. If I'm being completely honest with you, I get pretty excited when I come across a new pressed penny of a favorite character and it's something I don't have. I've been collecting these little gems for a VERY long time, and I'm just glad they are getting the recognition they deserve. And who can say no to a souvenir for 51 cents?!
4. The People Mover
Walking through Tomorrowland at Magic Kingdom, you get to experience some of the parks most popular attractions, Space Mountain, Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin, and the AstroOrbiter. But one attraction that used to be a little gem with no line EVER has now made an incredible "comeback" is the People Mover. This ride takes you on a tour high above Tomorrowland, and it's one of the best rides at Magic Kingdom because the views are really incredible! But recently the lines for this ride have gotten so long and the wait times are up to 30-45 minutes some days. I'm so excited that people are seeing the light when it comes to the People Mover, but really, go back to Peter Pan or something.
Well friends, that's it for this week's Walt Disney World Wednesday! Are you noticing comeback trends in the parks too? Let me know about them in the comments. Also, like this post if you are excited that cream cheese pretzels are back at Magic Kingdom!
