Monday Must Haves: June 27, 2016

Happy Monday, friends! I definitely agree with the sentiment above about Starbucks and Disney, especially on Monday. (If you're wondering, it's from my friends over at Happily Ever Tees!)  Can you believe it's the last week of June already?! Because there's going to be a lot of Fourth of July festivities going on this weekend, that's what this weeks theme is! Because let's be honest, I don't want to write a post next Monday. I want to be hanging out in the pool, eating bbq, and watching some fireworks!

Social Media:

The Olympics are starting in just over a month, and I couldn't be more excited! I love sports. I minored in sport management in college. I did seven sports internship. My family and friends are all planning nights to watch these incredible athletes in Rio. If you haven't yet, go follow the US Olympic Team Twitter, to keep up with individual team tryouts, athlete highlights, and general Team USA fun!

Fashion:

One of my favorite items of clothing to wear during summer, but especially on 4th of July are my American Flag cut off shorts. Y'all I made these with an old pair of jeans, an hour of time, and some cheap craft store paint!

So if you have an old pair of jeans, and want to make them patriotic, here's how:

1. Put your jeans on, take a Sharpie, and mark where you want to cut them. I advise cutting them longer, then trimming. You can't add fabric back on after it's off.

2. Get red and white paint, a paint brush, a paper plate, and a brush.

3. Put tape on the leg you want your stripes to be on. I used packing tape. This ensures clean lines once you paint and take the tape off. Fill every other line in with red paint.

4. Get a star stencil, or freehand stars on the other leg. Fill these in with white paint.

5. Rip off tape after the paint is dry.

6. Party!

Makeup:

For me, Fourth of July is all about glitter when it comes to makeup. It's basically an excuse to wear those crazy glittery gold and silver eye shadows and highlighters I own. My favorite palette for this is Cargo: Let's Meet in Paris. Can we just agree that creme brulee is the glitteriest, most fabulous color in the world?

Music:

You can't have a bqq/ pool party/ fam jam without some jams! One of my favorite summer albums is Moonshine in the Trunk by Brad Paisley. When you just need a song to roll the windows down too, hang out by the pool, drink a beer, or do whatever summer calls you to do, Brad has you covered.

Food:

If you're not about pie on Fourth of July, because it's dang hot, my friends over at Yoho Disney have you covered! They have the easiest recipe for a Dole Whip  and it's so good! I love it! You can make big batches of it before your party, keep it in the freezer, and serve it up when you're ready to eat. If you're looking to spice it up a little, (for adults over the age of 21 only) add some rum or tequila.

Well friends, that's it for this week's Monday Must Haves! If you try something on this list, or have something you think I should try let me know in the comments! Be safe this weekend. If you're going to be drinking please have a designated driver, and leave the fireworks to the professionals.

xx,

Megan
