Monday Must Haves: April 18, 2016
Happy Monday, friends! I hope you guys had a great weekend! This weekend went by way to fast, and this week is so jammed with different things, from the first Jacksonville Sharks home game, to a quick day trip to Disney, and other things, that I have no idea how I'm going to fit it all into 168 hours. But if it doesn't get done, it doesn't get done. Life isn't going to end, and no one is going to be taking away my birthday! This weeks Monday Must Haves is a bit all over the place, kind of like my brain right now, so if you're into that kind of thing just keep reading.
One of the funnest and most creative Instagram's I've come across in a long time (that's not Disney related) is Daisy Natives. They are a super cute t-shirt shop for "confetti throwers, champagne clinkers, and sassy kittens," which basically describes my life. What I love most about their Instagram is that they use people who look like me, instead of models, in their campaigns. It's so refreshing to see someone who's not a size two wearing t-shirts that say "pizza queen" or "tacos and champagne." If you aren't already convinced that you need to be following Daisy Natives you can find them on various social media platform and their website!
Over the weekend Lauren Conrad announced her new Disney collection for Kohl's! It's Alice In Wonderland themed, and while she said it would be available April 25 in stores and online, I saw it at my local Kohl's last Friday! One of the cutest items was a dark navy blue dress covered in tiny white teapots. There's also really cute shorts with the White Rabbit. If you love Alice In Wonderland, you're going to love this collection!
One thing I'm so glad I bought when I saw it at Ulta was the Soap & Glory Kick Ass Blur and Brighten Crayon. Ulta has been carrying Soap & Glory shower products since November of 2015, but they just recently started carrying makeup. Which is awesome, because I've heard so many great things about the Soap & Glory range! A lot of the display had been picked over and things had been swatched and used so I couldn't buy all that I wanted, but this concealer crayon was pretty interesting. The first thing I noticed about the Soap & Glory display was that they put out testers for people to swatch colors, and finishes, unlike other drugstore brands. So good on them, because there's nothing worse than getting home finally swatching that new lipstick and hating it because it doesn't match that sticker on the bottom. Anyways, so I swatched the two colors of this crayon they had, light, and medium and I chose medium. Light seemed way too light, almost white and with summer coming up I didn't want to wash my face out that much. The consistency of this crayon is awesome! It's creamy and easy to blend in with a brush or your fingers. It doesn't crease, and the color would work for a lot of different skin tones. It was well worth the $7.
I haven't been able to get the Up "Married Life" tune out of my head for a few months now. And it seems that every time I go to Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World and walk down Main Street it's playing. What makes it worse is knowing the backstory of the song, and why that first note was picked, and it's just a lot of feelings. That note was picked because it's happy and sad at the same time, and the song literally tells Carl and Ellie's love story.
Starting today my Etsy shop is doing 24 Days of Giveaways leading up to my birthday! You aren't going to want to miss this! Some days there are going to be discount codes, some days there might be a free bow with your order, and other days it's going to be a total surprise! Be sure to keep up with everything for the next 24 days by favoriting my Etsy shop, Mingling With Mickey! That's where I'm going to be posting each day's events in the form of shop announcements.
Today's announcement was the introduction of new patterns and ear styles! So now there are Villains, Captian Phasma, and gold wire ears in the shop!
Well friends, that's it for this week's Monday Must Haves! If you try out any of these things or have something you think I should try, let me know in the comments!
