Monday Must Haves: June 15, 2015
Happy Monday friends! What a weekend, huh? From going to see some living legends that are known as The Rolling Stones to going to Ikea for the first time to basically get a whole new bedroom, it was a good one! I hope your weekend was just as awesome as mine was. Now it's Monday and the daily grind has started again. What to do? Well hopefully today's Monday Must Haves helps out a little bit.
Today is the start of my summer working for former NFL player Donovin Darius as he puts on tackling clinics all over the city. While this might not interest you one bit, people always ask me to describe what I do and how I got my job, so I thought this would be the perfect place. I got my job after my mom was trying to help me find my final internship for my undergraduate degree and found out Donovin was looking for a public relations intern. I went for the interview and he ended up wanting me to work part time, which was awesome! Now almost two years later I am still working with Donovin at his football camps doing just about anything you can imagine, from registration, selling merchandise, taking photos, hydration specialist, first-aid, parent interviews, unloading and reloading the truck, and sometimes I'm the ball girl if we are low on coaches. The days are hot, but it goes by quick with all that is to be done and watching the kids have such a good time!
If you need a daily dose of inspiration, love and grace splashed across any of your social media timelines you need to be following Bob Goff. He's the writer of the book "Love Does" (which is awesome and I highly suggest you read it!) and he is all around a phenomenal person. He's a man full of adventure and trying to love people in the most authentic way possible.

There's a new fashion blog in town and while the posts may be short they are full of great content. "The Trend Pear" was started by Eleanor Calder and Max Hurd, both who live in London. They take the trends of the runway, put a London twist on each of them, then tell you how you can imitate the look for less if you can't get your hands on the YSL leather jacket.
Summer requires a bit of shimmer in your makeup routine, and one of the best ways to get the perfect shimmer is from a highlighter. I recently purchased the Laura Geller Baked Gelato Swirl Illuminator in the color Gilded Honey. I love this product for summer because it is really pigmented so you don't need a lot to get the perfect shimmery look. I also love this because the consistency of the highlighter is almost like a cream to powder, even though it's a pressed powder.
Beach waves are always in for summer, and while we've already talked about Fudge Urban's Sea Salt Spray, I've learned how Lou Teasdale does her infamous beach waves. She uses a diffuser after she puts the salt spray in her hair to loosen the curls and keep the curls looking a bit more lived in. You can find diffusers at any store that attach to the end of the blow dryer you already have, which will probably be less expensive than buying a whole diffuser.
Since going to see The Rolling Stones over the weekend I've been rekindling my love for old school 70's and 80's rock and roll. This week it's Fleetwood Mac!
Because Jurassic World was such a big hit over the weekend, I thought this Jimmy Fallon video would be appropriate.
One of the best bakeries in Jacksonville is Sweet Theory Baking Co.! They specialize in gluten free and vegan baked goods, but you would never know they aren't using eggs or full fat butter in any of their desserts. I'm obsessed with their homemade donuts, but since seeing their by-the-slice triple chocolate cake I'm thinking that might become my new favorite. If you are ever in Jacksonville don't miss this hidden treasure.
Well that's it for this week's Monday Must Haves! If you try any of these things or have something you think I should try let me know in the comments. Like this post if Monday's wouldn't be as bad if you had a slice of that chocolate cake from Sweet Theory!
