The Wednesday Review: Rimmel Showoff Lip Velvet
Happy Wednesday friends! I'm sorry I'v missed the past few weeks of The Wednesday Review. Life is getting busy with summer about to be in full swing, and I need to reorganize my schedule to keep writing quality posts, instead of just throwing something up on the internet. Anyways, today I'm going to talk about a semi-new product in my lipstick wardrobe and that's the Rimmel Showoff Lip Velvet in the color Orange-Ology.
The actual product is awesome, despite the semi-drab packaging. If you can get past that then you're set to go. I believe all of the colors in this range are matte, at least the new colors are. Orange-ology is exactly what it sound like, it's a bright orange color. What I love most about this product is the texture. It doesn't feel sticky like a lipgloss, but it isn't flat like a lipstick or stain. It's somewhere in between. It's almost like you have a thin layer of actual velvet on your lips that isn't to slippy, and isn't to hard to move around.
What I don't love about this product is that it transfers easily. I wore it out to lunch one day, and got compliments as I was ordering. Then when I checked my lips after lunch the color was completely gone. So I had to reapply. This normally wouldn't happen with a NARS lipstick pencil or the Kate Moss lipsticks from Rimmel. So I would just change the formulation to make it last longer.
Overall I think the Rimmel Showoff Lip Velvet is worth getting. It's not too expensive, as it can be found in the drugstore or "cheap" part of Ulta. I love the color payoff. What you see in the bottle is what is going on your lips.
Have you bought this product before and loved it? Have you hated it? Do you have a product you think I should feature on a Wednesday Review? Let me know in the comments. Like this post if you're excited about long summer nights with bright colored lipstick.
