My Five Product Face for Summer
Some days I feel like Olaf, wanting to bask in the sun for hours, but also realizing I'm going to melt because of the heat of the day. Summer is fast approaching and in Florida it's basically here. So today I thought it would be fun to give you my five product face for summer. Note this does not include any sort of skincare products because that needs to happen everyday.
The first thing for an easy summer face is a great base, and something that has SPF. Being outside means making sure your skin is protected. I love the Rimmel London Wake Me Up foundation, which has SPF 15. I used this all of last summer, and have already started using it this year on days when I know I'm going to be out in the sun a lot. I like this foundation because you can blend it in with your fingers or a brush and it never looks streaky. I also like that it doesn't have a really heavy coverage so the natural colors of your skin still come through.
To go with the foundation, a concealer is going to be key. But not just any concealer, you want one that's going to cover any spots or redness, and brighten your skin. I really like the Maybelline Dream Lumi Touch Highlighting Concealer. I use this around and down my nose and under my eyes and blend it in really good with a brush. It's the perfect dupe for the YSL Touche Eclat, for a fraction of the price.
The third product I'm using on my summer face is new from Revlon. It's the Highlighting Palette in Bronze Glow. These are a great dupe for the Bobbi Brown Shimmer Bricks. There are five strips of color in each square, which can be used on their own or mixed together. This product is way to shimmery for an actual bronzer, but is perfect for a highlighter with some of the lighter colors in the palette. You could also use it as an eyeshadow, because it has really good pigmentation.
To go with your rose gold eyes you need a great mascara. My favorite is the Tarte Lights Camera Lashes mascara. It's makes my lashes really long without them clumping together. I also like that throughout the hot days there is no fallout and I don't end up looking like a raccoon. There's really no other mascara that can compete with the Tarte one.
The finishing touch to any look is the perfect lip color. For summer sometimes red is a lot, even though red is classic. What I'm loving for summer is the Nars Satin Lip Pencil in the color Yu. It's a bright fuchsia pink that's really similar to Mac Show Orchid. I love the formulation of the Nars lip pencils because they don't pull at my lips and glide on so smoothly. They also last all day, which means I don't have to worry about the heat getting to the lipstick in my bag and melting it.
When you put all of these products together you get the perfect five product face for summer! What are some products you would have in your arsenal for a five product look? Let me know in the comments. Like this post if you're excited for sundresses and big sunglasses all of the time.
