On Fleek Friday: Lou Teasdale

It's finally Friday! What a whirlwind week this has been, and it keeps getting crazier. For this week's On Fleek Friday I decided to do a look inspired by the always cool Lou Teasdale. If you don't know who Lou Teasdale is, she's One Direction's hair and makeup artist, she's a published author, she's a brand ambassador for Fudge Urban hair products, and she's just super awesome. Lou always looks rocker chic without looking too done up, so her signature look is really easy to recreate.

I always start off by prepping my face with moisturizer and some Urban Decay primer. And yes, I got a haircut!

From the prep-phase, I have to put my hair up. My hair tends to fall in my face a lot so its just easier to pull it back. The base I used for this look was the Maybelline Dream Fresh BB Cream. I chose a BB Cream over a regular foundation because Lou always has this flawless finish, but it always looks really light and seems to let her natural skin show through a bit. With the BB Cream I used the Rimmel London Wake Me Up Concealer around my nose, my chin and for a few spots. I really like these two products together because you don't have to use a brush to apply them if you don't want to. Fingers really seem to help smooth these two products out the best.

From here I went straight for eyes. This is where the focus is for Lou's makeup 99 percent of the time. It's usually really grungy with clumpy spider lashes. For the eyeshadow I didn't use an eyeshadow at all. I used the Bobbi Brown Gel Long-Wear Eyeliner in black and blended it out really well.

My one tip with this would be to not apply to much of the eyeliner at one time. You can always add more to build up the color, but it's hard to take away without starting completely over. Also, don't blend out much past the crease in your eye socket. Then it can look like someone gave you a black eye at the bar last night instead of looking like Lou Teasdale.

The next thing I did was my eyebrows. Lou has said she uses HD Brows products, but since that isn't available in the States, I used the Anastasia Brow Wiz Pencil in Dark Brown to fill in any sparse spots and make my brows a bit more even.

The next step is mascara. For this look you aren't necessarily looking for length or volume but just layers of mascara. When you think you're done, apply one more coat. I used the Too Faced Better Than Sex mascara, but anything you have will be fine. Remember clumpy lashes are what you want for this look! Don't try to get the clumps out with the wand.

The last thing is really an optional thing, but I think it ties the whole look together. Lou usually wears a nude or pretty neutral lip color, but every once in a while you will see her with a wash of color, so I chose to go with color. I grabbed the Calvin Klein One Shine Lipstick in the color Alarm, which is a sheer red, and applied one coat of that.

Here's the final look! Yes, I'm in my car because I had somewhere to be. #CarSelfie

I bet if Lou Teasdale ever saw this she would be proud. Until then I'll just dream of working with her on some project or hanging out in a coffee shop with her and Harry Styles.

Let me know what you think of this look, and comment if you're going to be trying it out any time soon. Like this post if you Friday could have come a lot faster this week.
