Monday Must Haves: April 13, 2015

Happy Monday friends! I hope you had a great weekend and took some pretty rad adventures. I went down to One Spark with my mom and we had a great time! There was so much creativity and interesting things to see that there was no way you could see it all in one day. Because festival season is upon us I thought we would continue in the themes posts for the Monday Must Haves, and this week is all about Coachella! This weekend is going to be the second weekend of the Coachella Music and Arts Festival, and while I won't be flying out to California I will be watching some life feeds.

Sports:

While sports don't have anything to do with Coachella, I do want to send out my congratulations to Jordan Spieth as he won The Masters yesterday! What an honor it is to wear that green jacket and be recognized for being the best in your sport. See you out at The Players, Jordan.

Social Media:

Snapchat is a great thing when it comes to those random stories they put up of random events and cities. Right now on my feed there is a story for the Quidditch World Cup, London, and COACHELLA! What a great way to be part of the party happening at Coachella, if you are like me and attending Nochella. The perspective from different people is really interesting and getting to see small pieces of different shows is really exciting if you can't be in front of your computer for the live stream.

Fashion:

Coachella is known for some pretty weird and experimental fashion choices. If you're headed out West for the weekend I have three fashion rules!

1. Dress comfortable.

2. Don't show off what swimsuits normally cover.

3. Bring some flash tattoos!

If you don't know what flash tattoos are, they are temporary metallic tattoos that you can buy almost anywhere now! I would bring a sleeve for everyone in your group and some extras in case yours rub off or you make new friends.

Hair:

Let's be real, there's not going to be many places to wash your hair all weekend, if any at all. If you forget everything else hair-wise to pack in your bag, dry shampoo needs to make it in! The best one that I've found is the Fudge Urban Crisp Pear and Sweet Vanilla Dry Shampoo. It smells so good and doesn't leave any sort of white powder in your hair like other dry shampoos do. You can get this at Target and different online retailers.

Makeup:

Like the dry shampoo, my one makeup essential would be a liquid eyeliner you trust not to smear or wear off as you dance the night away! I really like the Tarte Lights, Camera, Lashes Precision Longwear Eyeliner. It's super black and lasts forever. The actual pen the product comes out of is really good for doing more of a graphic eye or just a simple line of color. Honestly who wants to be fiddling with a bunch of makeup when there's great music to be heard anyways?

Music:

Coachella has some of the biggest names in music coming in this year, along with some newer artists that need to be recognized. Who's the one band I'm going to see even if my friends don't want to go with me? AC/DC! Talk about living legends. Going to an AC/DC concert is one of those bucket list concerts that everyone who likes music needs to go to! What's the best AC/DC song? Obviously it's "Back in Black."

YouTube:

This performance by Ellie Goulding of "Anything Could Happen" is just really fun!

Food:

Because I'm not going to Coachella my Saturday night will probably consist of going out with my friends then watching some live feeds. One of the places I love going is Derby on Park in the Five Points neighborhood of Jacksonville. They have a great outside seating area, and something for everyone on the menu. My favorites are the fried green tomatoes, and the  shrimp and grits! They also have a fab brunch with the best french toast in the city.

Well that's it for this week's Monday Must Haves! Are you going to Coachella or are you going to Nochella? Let me know in the comments. Like this post if you think puppies in tea cups are super cute!

xx,

Megan
