Monday Must-Haves: February 23, 2015

Happy Monday beautiful! I hope you had as much fun this weekend as I did. I got to got to Disney to run a 10K then hang out at the parks with my mom. It was just a nice get away, and coming home with another gold piece to add to my collection is awesome too. I hope you watched the Oscars last night because the dresses were so good and gave me so much inspiration for this week and for spring! But enough about the weekend, it's a new week and it needs to be conquered, and these are the things that are going to make it fab.

Sports:

My friend Wale started a podcast with two of his friends called "The Untitled Podcast" (very creative right?) but it's really good! They cover a wide range of sports topics from basketball, the NFL, college sports, and NASCAR. The guys also talk about life and current events outside of sport, so if sports aren't your thing then this show is still for you. Wale, Joshua and Zander all work really well together and they are just getting started with this project and it's only going to go up from here.

Social Media:

There is so much going on in the world of fashion right now, with New York Fashion Week wrapping up and we are now in the middle of London Fashion Week! One of the best Twitter accounts I've found to keep up with the trends and what's coming for next season or even next week is Lyst. They are constantly posting pictures of different styling ideas and what designers are doing. I'm also a major fan of their hashtag #OwnIt because it describes a photo of a beautiful woman who is absolutely smashing her outfit in every way possible and everyone around her knows it.

You can follow Lyst on Twitter at: @Lyst

Fashion:

I know you probably are expecting something from NYFW or LFW here but plan on a full post about what I thought of my favorite designers and brands looks later this week! I actually am going to show you my two favorite looks from the Oscars last night. The first one is from Margot Robbie and she looked amazing in YSL! There's so much I love about this dress, but what I love most is the sheer sleeves. Because the neckline is so low the sleeves really balance everything out, but still make the look really edgy because they are sheer. (And I just love YSL)

The second look I really loved was Rosamund Pike in Givenchy! The detailing in this dress is incredible and the color is perfect. I usually hate red and red dresses but if I ever had something where I needed a fancy dress like this I would hope I would borrow this one for the night!

Hair:

I'm loving braids right now. I especially love these ones from fashion week that Lou Teasdale posted on her Instagram with a tutorial on how to do them! They look incredible and really easy to do. I also love the color of the girl's hair in the photo, because pastel hair is really what hair life is about.  For the full tutorial go check out Lou's  Instagram!

Makeup:

Because spring is so close and I'm just ready for a little more sun and color in my life I'm loving the Lorac "The Royal Eye Shadow Collection" palette in the quad "Queen." This collection came with four different palettes, all with different royal names,  but Queen is so pretty! The colors are perfect for making the perfect rose gold smokey eye, which is great for day or night and almost any event you are going to. The actual eye shadow is great quality and goes on really smooth and doesn't crease or move around during the day. With the whole collection you get 16 different shades and endless possibilities.

Music:

Unless you've been living under a rock the past few months you've probably heard the name James Bay in passing. You might have even heard one of his songs in passing and not even noticed it. But please don't ever do that again. His voice makes me stop what I'm doing because it's so captivating.

Food:

Black Sheep in Jacksonville is one of my new favorite places for brunch. They have the best shrimp and grits in the city and the place is just cool! They are located in historic Five-Points and make sure to get there early because parking is a pain and you don't want to have to wait around. But even if you have to wait, it's so worth it. The staff is so friendly and makes great suggestions. And in the summer I plan on checking out their rooftop bar with some of my friends.

Well that's it for this week's Monday Must Haves! If you try out any of these things or have anything you think I should try let me know in the comments. If you think Mondays are tolerable with enough coffee go ahead and click the heart-shaped like button.

xx,

Megan
