Monday Must Haves: Best of 2015
Happy Monday, friends! It's the last Monday of the year and that means it's time for all of the best of lists, lists that countdown different things, and New Year's resolutions that won't be kept. I thought it would be fun to look at 2015 by category, and see the highlights of the year.
One of the best sports days for me this year was when the Jaguars had open training camp and I had the opportunity to meet Head Coach Gus Bradley. There's nothing better than meeting someone who has such a spotlight on them only to find out they want to take an interest in every single individual out at practice.
It's been a great year of discovery on social media. It's also been a great year of learning my own brand, and being noticed by some of the best and brightest in different industries. I've been lucky enough to talk to Lisa Eldridge, Ryan Randall, and many more makeup mavens because of social media.
The best fashion trend of 2015 has to have been graphic t-shirts. There's nothing better than knowing that your old black skinny jeans, black ankle boots, and a graphic t-shirt are a cool outfit. Maximum comfort for so many occasions, and yet, you still look put together if you want to put that same t-shirt with a pencil skirt and heels.
Just like social media, for me it's been a big year for makeup. I've been able to really expand my knowledge of different brands, and what different products do for different people. I've learned new techniques and applied to a beauty school course taught by two of the best hair and makeup artists in the business. All of that is good but you can't be the best without great tools, which is where my favorite makeup brushes come in. The Real Techniques Bold Metals collection has changed the way I do my makeup. The brushes are beautiful, first off, and they are so well made. Each brush is made with a makeup artist in mine, whether you're a beginner or do makeup for a living.
My favorite YouTube channel this year has to be James Corden from The Late Late Show. And not just his overall channel, which is fab, but his carpool karaoke videos. They are so funny, and creative that there's no way people can't like them.
I've discovered a lot of great music this year, but the best album for me has to be One Direction's Made in the AM. If you think that Harry, Niall, Liam, and Louis still sound like they did with the bubblegum pop of five years ago you're sadly mistaken. With the new record came a great new sound. My best friend and I have convinced a few of our friends just to give this record a listen and we produced a some new fans.
You guys know I love food. There's nothing better than sharing a meal with people. The best meal I had this year was actually not that long ago from a restaurant at Disney Springs called Morimoto Asia. The food was all so simple and well executed, but tasted delicious. There were so many options on the menu that you could go back again and again and never have the same thing twice. And don't forget to have dessert. The churros are perfection!
Well that's it for my Best of 2015! What did you love about 2015? Let me know in the comments. Like this post if you're excited about all that's to come in 2016!
