On Fleek Friday: Recreating A Cara Delevingne Look by Lisa Eldridge

Hey beautiful! It's finally Friday and today I decided it was a good day for my makeup to be "on fleek." (I think that's the terms all the young kids are using these days) So after rummaging around YouTube for a while and watching a few tutorials from different people I decided what better way to start the weekend than looking like Cara Delevingne! Cara is an absolutle boss and her makeup is always perfect, even when she's not on the runway or red carpet.

The look I finally decided on was one from one of Cara's makeup artists, Lisa Eldridge! If you remember I featured Lisa in my Monday Must-Haves this week. The look was from a party Cara went to in 2013, but the look is super cool and I love it, and I loved recreating it. Before I start I do want to say that the products I used were of all price points, from drugstore to high-end, so if you want to recreate the look please don't hesitate if you don't think you have the money to do so! I will list all of the products I used at the end of the post. I will also put Lisa's video at the end so you can get better instruction and a better visual of what I did.

This is my naked, combination skin, face.

To cover up some of those spots and the redness in my skin I used Urban Decay's Naked Skin foundation in the color 1.0. The coverage is medium and looks better the more you wear it throughout the day.

Here I am after putting on my foundation.

I followed Lisa's tutorial exactly, so she moved onto eyes, where I would have gone to concealer to cover up some of my spots. As I worked on my eyes, I used the Calven Klein Power Eye Shadow Quad in the color "smoking" There is the perfect green and black that you need to create the look!

This is the green color in the quad all over my lid, and then blended out really well! The whole look took a really long time to blend, but it really is worth it in the end. Then I added some black eye shadow from the same Calvin Klein palette to the crease and outer corner of my eyes, and lined my eyes with a liquid liner by Lorac. There was also a lot of smudging of a kohl eyeliner along the bottom waterline, but again, so worth it! This is my eyes done, but not my eyebrows, those still look rough.

Next there was contouring, and highlighting, which is really hard to show in close up pictures like these, so I'm not going to show that. But you will be able to see it in the final finished photo! I moved onto eyebrows, which is what Cara is known for. I mean they are basically what all eyebrows wish they could be!

Anyways, I used a powder from Smashbox that came in one of those Christmas sample boxes, where you get four of their best selling products in one box and its all sample sizes. I absolutely love those type things, because then you get to try out a bunch of new stuff, they usually are about $20, and if you don't like a product then you haven't forked out a ton of money on something you are never going to use. I just needed to tell you that.

As I was saying, I used a powder trio from Smashbox that had the perfect shade of brown in the palette for my brows. I am really particular about my brows. I've never had them waxed or threaded or anything like that. I have this fear, much like Lisa if you watch her eyebrow video, that the person doing them will mess them up somehow, or make them to thin. That is my worst fear. So I just tweeze my brows to clean them up a bit, but I really like the natural look of my eyebrows. I once heard that eyebrows were meant to be sisters, not twins, so I've gone with that theory ever since.

Here's what my eyebrows look like filled in.

After eyebrows, I moved on to contouring and highlighting. I don't think closeup pictures of that look very good unless your a Kardashian, so no photos of that, but you will be able to see it in the final look! After contouring I powdered with Rimmel London's Stay Matte Powder, and swiped on the perfect mascara, Maybelline That Falsies!

Then I moved onto lips. Since the eyes were so dramatic for Cara, Lisa went with a really nude lip. I used Rimmel London's Kate Moss line in the color 113. I really love this color. It's a peachy matte nude, but it's not nude like how concealer lips are. Even if you aren't going to be recreating this look, I would highly recommend this lipstick.

So finally, I had finished the Cara Delevingne look and I love it so much! I think this look would be perfect for a party or going out with your girl friends for little black dress night.

Here are some up close pictures of the look as well.

If you are going to be recreating this look use the hashtag #MyLisaLook so Lisa Eldridge can see it, and put it up on Instagram or Twitter. Lisa has a full Pinterest board of looks that people have recreated and I would love to see you up there. Also, put the hashtag #MinglingWithMegan so I can see it as well.
