So last week I said I was thanking different people who has really made my collegiate experience special, and if you missed last week's post you can read it here! Unlike last week where I focused on three different people or organizations that propelled me, I want to acknowledge one person who has gone above and beyond for me for the past year and a half. Kristi Dosh was started out as my internship adviser in spring 2013, where I was able to help promote her book Saturday Millionaires! (Which is really good, so if you haven't read it yet, go grab a copy from Barnes & Noble or online.) I learned so much from Kristi about what it's like to work in sports and have a job that never stops during the time I was her intern. That time really made me think about if I wanted to peruse sports as a career or not, and I quickly learned that I did, because of what Kristi was teaching me.

Because of Kristi, I have learned to look at sports in a new way. While I still love to sit down and watch a football game on Saturday or Sunday afternoon, I also see the different marketing and public relations techniques teams are using during the game. I am able to understand what goes on in the background of the sports world in collegiate sports, especially football, after working on the book promotion project with Kristi.

After I finished with the internship, I was so excited to find out that Kristi was going to be teaching the Sport Marketing class at the university I go to. She brought the class to life, even if the class seemed to be lifeless. She took full investment in the students that were in her classroom and was willing to do anything for them. It was during this time that Kristi really pushed me to try new things and expand what I knew about sports and different companies who take stake in the sports world.

All of that aside, Kristi is just one of those people that you want to go hang out with. She is one of the most approachable, nicest, and kind-hearted people you could ever meet. I know that because I got to be on her team, even if it was just for a short amount of time, I changed and it was for the better. I have become better with my knowledge of sports because of her. I have become a better student because of her. I have taken more chances because of her. I have become a better writer because of her. I am all around a better person because I was able to work with Kristi Dosh.

So thank you Kristi for all you have instilled in me the past year and a half! Thank you for all of the knowledge that you have passed on, and thank you for believing in me.
