Monday Must-Haves for May 19, 2014
Hello friends! I hope you had an awesome weekend, because I know I did. I went to dinner and a Jacksonville Sharks game Saturday night with my dad, and Sunday was hang out in the pool day with my aunt and uncle, then my best friend came over for dinner. Pretty good weekend. But enough about my weekend, it's over and it's Monday so that means it's time for another Monday Must-Haves! This week doesn't have a theme like last week did, just a normal week here at FAS covering the basic subjects.
There's this new trendy beach game that's sweeping the nation called Spikeball! I have never played it but it looks really fun and I'm thinking about getting it for my tailgates and backyard parties this summer! Basically, you have a round flat net that sits off the ground where you and a partner have three hits to get it back to the other team of two but the last hit has to be off the net.
This week on Instagram I'm loving what Lou Teasdale is putting up! She's posting so much about hair and makeup, shopping trips, and her beautiful daughter, Lux. I'm also blogging through her book called "The Craft" so naturally I am going to want to see what she is up too. But her photos are always fun and interesting since she gets to travel a lot for her job!
Hair and Makeup:
If you've followed my blog for any amount of time you know that I am obsessed with Fudge Urban products! This week I'm loving their Surfer Wax bar. It's literally a solid bar of texturizer for your hair. I love using it when I want extra grit for braids or just wearing my hair down to make it look like I just walked off the beach. I usually just take it and rub it down sections of my hair a few times then rub it all into my hair to add volume and texture, and style my hair how I want. It's a great product and I would highly recommend it.
Guys it's hot in Florida. And it's only going to get hotter as the summer goes on. The perfect pair of cutoff shorts are a necessity! You can buy them at a price that is far over what you can make them for. I make mine out of old jeans I don't really wear anymore. There are a ton of YouTube tutorials on how to make the perfect pair of cutoffs, but the best thing I know to do is cut the legs longer than what you think you might need because you can always cut them shorter!
Switchfoot is one of my favorite bands. I've seen them in concert a few times and they never fail to put on a great show! I love their new album Fading West. One of the songs on the record is "Who We Are" and it's talking about wanting more in life as young person and how that shapes who you are as you grow up. It's one of those songs you want to roll the windows down and sing really loud too, though. I love the irony of having a heavy message and an upbeat song.
So that's it for this week's Monday Must-Haves! If you try any of these out let me know, or have anything you think I should try out tell me about that too.
